Whilst conducting a pop up PACT at ASDA, Stanley, PCSOs were alerted by security of two females who were attempting to shoplift from the store. Both females were arrested on scene for shoplifting and the goods (over £400) were returned to store. PCSOs alongside Community Safety Coordinator Daniels, attended Tanfield Community Centre on Tuesday during their lunch club. They engaged with members of the public and community centre staff, and found it very hard to resist the amazing food!Arrest attempts have been conducted for multiple wanted individuals by officers, as well as bail checks. Officers have been conducting foot patrols through the town centre and surrounding areas, throughout their shifts and as part of Operation Pave which targets hotspot areas of anti-social behaviour. A dispersal order has been utilised this weekend to deter such behaviour. School presentations have taken place at Burnside Primary School about 'People That Help Us' and Annfield Plain Junior School about 'Knife Crime and Safety'. Students engaged well at both schools and hopefully learnt some valuable lessons. One male was arrested, with assistance from our Response colleagues, for assault on an emergency worker against PCSOs following drunken behaviour at Stanley Bus Station. Rural crime SPOCs along with Community Safety Coordinator Daniels, have been visiting farms in the local area to promote Rurali - the Force's partnership approach to tackle Rural Crime. PCSOs have worked with local farmers to gain intelligence, build networks and give crime prevention advice, alongside signage. Multiple crime enquiries have been completed by officers and PCSOs, including CCTV and house to house enquiries, for offences such as shoplifting and vehicle crime.
